1. THE QUADRANT

On the borders of Old Trafford and Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Firswood is in a great location to not only access the lively social scenes of the neighbouring towns but also has brilliant transport links to the city centre. One of the most distinguishable areas of Firwood is The Quadrant, where Kings Road meets Great Stone Road. Around the leafy, green space is the Quadrant pub, a former public library (which is now a Beacon Centre) a number of independent shops, including a post office and a barbers shop.

2. THE BEAUTIFUL LONGFORD PARK

Residents of Firswood are spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor spaces to stay active and enjoy the summer weather. Longford Park is

Trafford’s largest municipal park and is located in Firswood & Stretford. There’s always something happening at the park, so if you ever find yourself with a weekend free of plans, residents can head to the park and have a fun-filled day. One of the main entrances to the park lies on The Quadrant, and inside you’ll find the Firswood Community Centre, the Trafford Athletics Stadium, Longford’s Gym and the Scouts Centre.

And it doesn’t stop there, inside visitors can enjoy tennis and basketball courts, a bowling green, football and rugby pitches, along with various children’s play areas, a pets corner and even disc golf.

For a more relaxing day, or when you’ve finished all your sporting activities, you can head to the formal or Japanese Gardens, have a look at the park sculptures or admire the Longford Park

community allotment.

Bordering Stretford, Old Trafford and Chorlton means residents have plenty of activities on their doorstep, from the Manchester United museum to the cafés and bars in Chorlton.

3. HIGHLY SOUGHT-AFTER PROPERTIES

Last year most of the properties sold in the Firswood area were semi-detached which went for an average of £305,420, however there are a range of other properties available in the area including terraced homes and detached properties. Houses here are slightly cheaper than neighbouring Chorlton-cum-Hardy and so the area is very popular for people looking to move to these areas but want to stay within their budgets. Looking to move?
